About Our School

St. George Catholic School is located in West London and serves the communities of Byron and Lambeth.  We have a dedicated staff of professionals who are committed to providing a supportive and caring environment for our 269 students.

The St. George Catholic School Council is an active group of parents who are dedicated to supporting the learning environment of the school. The school and parent community work collaboratively to ensure and maintain a safe learning environment for all students.

The Parish team of St. George Catholic Church is an integral part of our school community.  In the past we have had regular classroom visits, monthly celebrations of the Eucharist, and shared events contribute to providing a faith-based education for our children. This year, due to COVID restrictions we have had to adjust our work together since no visitors are permitted in our building.   Before and after school care is available through the London Children’s Connection School Age Program.

Living Our Faith

St. George Catholic School is proud to demonstrate its Catholic faith in the community. Charities, identified and supported by Council benefit from the efforts and generosity of staff, students, and their families. We take part in a number of events to support these worthwhile causes.  These causes include Terry Fox, St. George Christmas Hamper Program, Turkey Bingo for our Sister Schools in our board as well as food drives for food banks in our local community.

In the past each month we gathered together as a community to celebrate the Eucharist at St. George Parish. The Pastoral Team from the Parish would visit our school regularly each month and work with the students in their classrooms. We hope to return to that model "post COVID".

We are connected to our Catholic high school, St. Thomas Aquinas. As well, we are grateful for the financial support that we receive from our local businesses and community organizations.  Of particular mention this year is S.T.A's donation of our new Altar located in our front hall.

Transportation Information

St. George Catholic School community serves families who live in Byron east of Boler Road, as well as families who live in Lambeth. Currently, we have 4 buses and 1 specialized vehicle providing transportation to St. George School from these areas.

School Safety

School safety is promoted through our safe arrival program, parking procedures,  VIP (Values, Influences and Peers) Program, a close affiliation with the public health nurse, and the Healthy and Safe Schools Committee, who tracks safety practices in place for the school.
